Room 7 Kapanui School: Inline Hockey!

Our class learnt how to play the sport of inline hockey.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT INLINE HOCKEY

WHAT IS INLINE HOCKEY?

Inline hockey is basically turf hockey except on roller blades.

The aim of the game is to score as many goals as you can before the game ends.

GEAR

To play inline hockey you have to be wearing...

Helmet
Skates
Knee and shin pads
Elbow pads
You also have to have a stick that fits properly

WHAT WE DID THERE

First, Coach G gave us a brief idea of what we were going to do and learn about, then went over some quick rules about how to hold the hockey stick.

Next, the coaches told us about the gear and helped us put them on.

After that, we were taught how to skate- we did some drills

Then we played a game- Girls versus Boys- Coach G called out a number, e.g. 3. Three people from each side try and score a goal. Once a goal is scored, it starts again. The team with the most points wins.

To finish up, we got a free skate around the court.
