Piping Hot
Room 13 did a investigation with hot water. We called Piping Hot as we wanted to find the best method to keep our drink warm. This was our model before we started our own investigations. In the experiment we got seven types of cups these were the types of cups:
China
Double Glass
Thermos
Plastic
Double Plastic
Cardboard
Polystyrene
What we did was we got all the cups in line and then got a measuring cup and put 150 mill in each cup. Before we put the water in the cup we used a thermometer to test the heat of the water and then put it in the the cups and then every three minutes we checked the temperatures and put it on a maths table to see witch one keeps the water hot for the longest. The Thermos won with the temp 55 degrees in 15 minutes with out a lid!!! Also the cup we use the most come last with the temperature of 44!!! Here are some photos of the finished board:
